Technology in PE

I’ve included some interesting presentations on technology use in Physical Education, including managing laptops.

This is a Prezi on using technology in PE. It’s a very good overview, but doesn’t include mobile apps.

  1. hi — we have started locking our change rooms after students and then unlocking at the end of the lesson (so far so good)

Using ‘One note’ both as teachers and students
Other programs include wordle and freemind. Basically, all we did at the end of last year was teach students to use the one note program ie. pasting, organising notes, uploading work etc
Some of the acma cybersafety is really excellent and using parts of TALE learning objects where they fit our programs.

  2. I’m a big fan of everything Moodle. Trying to use a variety of activities including: quizzes, forums, surveys/questionnaires, podcasts etc. I find Moodle to be a great way to keep kids engaged and organise my classes. The gradebook is awesome to keep track of student work etc

Also trying to incorporate web 2 tools such as Google Docs, Glogster, Prezi etc etc For example in Prelim PE – First Aid I will use a forum. Students will complete a ‘research project’ to produce two online first aid resources.

    1. They choose two topic areas (1 x injury from DP1, 1 x medical condition from DP2)
    2. Then researched the topics recording the following information: a definition, signs and symptoms, and first aid management
    3. Presented info using whatever medium they wanted Glogster, Voki, Google docs, Prezi, xtranormal, etc make YouTube video etc
    4. Pasted the URL into the forum
    5. Peer assessment then takes place with students rating each others work.

Will see how it works in the next few weeks.
